i feel so happy!
today is such a gay day!
gay day gay day gay day!
today is the day i went out to lunch with ruth and dicky after church...

no.
that isnt the fun part.
the fun part comes when we paid a visit to good old Yamaha!
wah!!
seriously right, the Yamaha at plaza singapore kicks all the other Yamahas-i've-ever-been-tos' butts.
this Yamaha has all the nice shiny brass and woodwind instruments.
plus a whole section reserved for mouthpieces, instrument maintanence, instrument studies and a whole shiny showcase of the beautiful shiny glimmering instruments.
and i bought a mouthpiece brush from there which made me $6 poorer and the happy cashier behind the cash register with the fake plastic smile $6 richer.
$6...
...
$6...
i forked out $6 for a puny white brush which is apparently already grande size.
$6 for a stupid grande-but-doesnt-look-like-grande-size brush.
Yamaha stuff certainly doesnt come cheap.
just like the spray ruth recommended me to.
(for non-trombonists out there, the spray is used to spray a layer of water over the inner part of our slides immediately after we apply slide cream to dilute whatever tough parts of the cream and further lubricate the slide, giving it a nice feel when playing.)
no, we dont use slide oil.
(when slide oil dries on the inner slide, after a very long time, it becomes little grains of "sand" and scratches the sensitive inner slide, making it worse instead of actually lubricating it.)

anyway.
(oh yes, the spray is $7+ if you are interested to know.)
after i bought my grande-but-doesnt-look-like-grande-size brush, we walked out of Yamaha and went into...
YAMAHA!!
hahahaha.
apparently, the Yamaha there is divided into two big shops.
one (the one we visited first) is Yamaha classical.
the second is Yamaha contemporary.
there, we played around with the super out of tune guitars and tried out the snares, suspended cymbals and drum sticks without having any real intention of buying them.
haha.

something weird though.
why are the bass guitar designs there much much much nicer and cooler than the electric guitars?
usually in a band, the electric guitars stand in front while the bass guitars usually try their best to blend into the scenery next to the drums.
dicky says its because its to make up for their er...how shall i say...
its not really useful because most of the time, people just listen to the electric guitar.
but yet, its really useful because it adds the bass beat to the song.
ok, i cant think of a word now.
but anyway, in my opinion, the electric guitar should have the nicer designs.
ok, whatever, i can just imagine you rolling your eyes away.

i shall make a promise to myself that when i grow up, i will learn how to play the electric guitar and eventually buy one (one with a super cool flame design) complete with amps for myself to er, "jam" *makes air quotation marks using fingers* with the church youths.
jam...stupid word.
sounds like as if the church youths have been coming together to make jam using instruments or something. *snorts* youth lingo. i will never understand it.

its the same with the recent craze over that song played during that chicken little commercial.
that dragon tea din tei hippy song.
stupid name. dragon tea.
its just some hippy song played when an over drugged chicken starts gyrating to its beat.
no doubt its catchy, but give me franz ferdinand or the killers anytime, thank you but no thanks.
its so funny how many people just follow the masses.
"orh, you like then i also must like."
its so bimbotically UNoriginal.
raise your hand and show off your hairy armpits if you type like this often when messaging or if this kind of alien font appears on your "fwenster" or whatever shit flixster profile, "Hi! i'M A BuBbLY AnD HaPpY gAy BiMbO WhO lIkEs KaWaii tHiNgs aNd MoRe KeWL tHinGs. i aLsO FiND tHinGs LiKe ToIlEtRoiLs FaSciNaTiNg..." and whatnot.
stereotype.
at first glance, yes, i do find this sort of font a little cute or "kAWAii" but theres only so much one can take without grabbing my eyeballs and shouting "the font is killing me! the font is killing me!"
but its a trifle disturbing and annoying when you begin to see it everywhere.
like as if some "ALiENs" have descended from the great skies and brainwashed all pink loving handphone obssessed bimbos out there to type like this.
its the same as that mice love big rice song.
once you hear it on tv, you hear it everywhere from handphone ringtones to ipods.
omg. dont waste your ipod bytes la. such a stupid song. go download better songs like "do you want to" or "mr brightside" la. ipod costs about $400+++ right? tsk tsk. waste of money.

yeah, i know everyone has their own likes and dislikes.
and i happen to dislike stereotypical people and songs like that dragon tea song. alot.
